The company is engaged in the provision of venture capital funds to businesses. It was established in the year 1986 on the initiative of State-owned banking officials for the purpose of boosting venture capital activity in Spain. The company has its registered head office located in the city of Madrid, Spain. The company makes investments through its two venture capital funds: Fond-ICO, with an allocation standing at EUR122m; and Euro-ICO, with an allocation of EUR18m. It is capable of reaching a wide spectrum of enterprises, ranging from newly-constituted concerns to consolidated, medium-sized firms. The company provides not only financing, but also a stable team of professional experts who assists in the definition and development of the portfolio's strategy. Its minimum and maximum investment in the segment of innovative enterprises at the start-up stage goes from EUR600, 000 to EUr1, 500,000. The company focuses enterprises at the start-up stage which are innovative as regards product, process or service; and enterprises with a management team of proven skills, committed to the enterprise and its shareholders in the execution of a consistent, realistic business plan. The company's portfolio of investments include: Infun SA; Industrias Derivadas del Aluminio, S.L.; Telas y Fabricados no Tejidos, S.A.; Grupo Guascor, S.L.; Rio Tinto Fruit, S.A.; Bionostra, S.L.; Centros de Día Delamano, S.L.; and I+D Unifondo.
