The company, with registered office in Barcelona, Spain, is engaged in the manufacture of cements, concretes and mortars; as well as the quarrying and sale of aggregates both domestically and abroad. It was the result of a merger between Cementos y Cales Freixa and Cementos Fradera in 1973. The company's products include cements, concretes, mortars and aggregates. Its brand names include Prebesec, Megamix and Titan. The company operates its cement business in Spain, Tunisia, Argentina, Uruguay, United Kingdom and the United States; concrete business in Spain, Tunisia, Argentina and Uruguay; mortar business in Spain and Argentina; and the aggregate business is run in Spain through the company Aridos Uniland S.A. The company is the largest mortar producer in Spain by volume, and ranks third in Europe overall. It has factories located in Spain (Monjos and Vallcarca), Tunisia, Argentina and Uruguay. The company's vision is to consolidate the position of the Uniland Group in the markets in which it operates, with a plan for growth. Furthermore, it is owned by CRH Public Limited Company, an Irish company engaged in the manufacture and supply of building materials with worldwide operations in 28 countries, while employing approximately 80,000 people at over 3,300 locations.
