The company is a Spanish enterprise which is responsible for the generation and buying and selling of electricity. It was formed when the Gas Natural Group has entered the electricity business during the liberalisation of the Spanish energy market. The company has its registered office address in Madrid, Spain. It was incorporated in June 1998. The facilities using combined cycles are located in Sant Adrià de Besas (Barcelona), San Roque (Cadiz), in Arribal (La Rioja) and in Cartagena (Murcia). The wind power operations are located in nine autonomous communities: Catalonia, Aragon, Navarre, La Rioja, Cantabria, Galicia, Andalusia, Castilla y Leon and Castilla-La Mancha. These wind assets place the Gas Natural Group among the leading wind power operators in Spain. One of the company's subsidiaries is Gas Natural Corporacion Eolica S.L., a company based in Barcelona, Spain, primarily engaged in the production and distribution of electricity and other electric services.
