This company is engaged in subdividing real property into lots and developing it to central market and commercial center. It was established in 1966 by State Society of Participaciones Industriales (SEPI). The registered business office of the company is located in Madrid, Spain. The company manages a network of 23 central markets which are strategically located across Spain's major strategic locations, these are: Mercalgeciras, Mercalicante, Mercasturias, Mercabadajoz, Mercabarna, Mercabilbao, Mercacardoba, Mercagalicia, Mercagranada, Mercairula, Mercajerez, Mercalaspalmas, Mercaleon, Mercamadrid, Mercamálaga, Mercamurcia, Mercapalma, Mercasalamanca, Mercasantander, Mercasevilla, Mercatenerife, Mercavalencia and Mercazaragoza. The network has a total surface area of seven million square meters and houses their major customers - approximately 3,650 business companies. The company also constructed 12 Commercial Centers with a total surface area of approximately 77,000 square meters. Its Commercial Centers include: Reef (Lanzarote), the Seat (Badajoz), Centers of the Vila (Barcelona), the Boundary (Gijan), Getafe-3 (Madrid), Asuncio'n (Sherry of the Border), the Machine (Ponferrada), the Cypresses (Salamanca), the Seat of Leganas (Madrid), S'escorxador (Palma de Mallorca) and Vicalvaro (Madrid). The company is a member of World Union of Wholesale Markets (WUWM) - a non-profit organisation that aims to promote the international exchange of information on wholesale and retail markets, with a view to improving their construction, organisation and management.
