Mining of hard coal
The company is engaged in mining activities. It was incorporated in 1992 and has its registered head office strategically located in Guadalajara, Mexico. The company is the second largest mining firm in Spain after the Union Minera del Norte. It has four work centers in the towns of: Tormaleo, Cerredo, Villablino and for the narrow gauge railway Ponferrada-Villablino MSP covering the line between power plant and Villablino Cubillos del Sil through the basin the river Sil. It conducts drilling, taking core samples of minerals, and performing geophysical surveying and mapping services. The company has a state-of-the-art technology and equipment capable of performing these complex operations, as well as enough manpower to the firm's activities.
