The company, also known as Altamar Private Equity, is engaged in investment holding and private equity business. It was established in November 2004 to provide Spanish institutional investors and high net worth individuals the possibility of gaining access to the best international private equity funds in the most efficient and diversified manner. With its registered office in Madrid, it has a team of professionals with wide experience in direct investment in international private equity, financial consultancy, investment banking, investment analysis, risk control, and definition and implementation of operative procedures. This team is organized into four functional areas: research and investments, investor relations, operations, and administration. As the leading Spanish-based private equity fund of funds, the company invests in very mature companies with an important presence in their respective markets and whose acquisition is likely to be financed to a great extent through outside finance. In addition, it invests in companies with a higher risk profile since they are of new or recent creation or because they require finance to start up and/or develop their business or to undertake new projects. A part of Spain's Grupo Altamar, the company aims to invest in leveraged buyout fund of funds and in real estate fund of funds. By means of a rigorous selection, analysis and a due diligence process at a global level, it creates diversified portfolios which participate in the best private equity funds. The company has six funds and assets under management of more than EUR957 million.
