The institution is engaged in developing social programs and innovative initiatives focusing on addiction treatment and prevention, education and youth. It was established in 1982 and has its registered office in Cascante, Spain. The institution services concentrates in providing residential programs in therapeutic communities which are dedicated to detoxification and treatment for adults and adolescents engaged in the misuse or abuse of alcohol and other drugs (detoxification and treatment); and residential programs for the maintenance, or reduction, of substitution drugs; and educational and remedial residential programs for at-risk adolescents (behavior troubles, school dropout, and cannabis abuse). It also offers programs for socially vulnerable women with addiction problems, and who have dependent children, as well as housing and reintegration programs for socially vulnerable people, including street youths, abused women and those who are homeless. In addition, the institution conducts motivational, relapse-prevention and other counseling programs and activities, and primary and secondary education for children either from the street or from low-income, and rural families. The institution aims in developing initiatives and programs with the objective of promoting personal self-reliance and social progress. It operates mainly in Spain with a network composed of non-profit member organizations in Belgium, Canada, Italy, and Uruguay.
