The company operates as an agency that is responsible for host broadcasting of the Olympic Games. It conducts its business from its registered head office located in Madrid, Spain. It was created by the International Olympic Committee in May 2001. The company was established to ensure the high standards of broadcasting were maintained over successive Olympic Games. It serves as the Olympic Broadcast Organization or Host Broadcaster for the 2008, 2010 and 2012 Olympic Games. As the Host Broadcaster, it is chiefly responsible for providing the pictures and images of the Olympic Games as a service to all broadcast organizations who have purchased the television and radio rights to the Games. The company's internal operation is under the supervision and management of its Managing Director Manolo Romero.
