The company, together with its subsidiaries, is engaged in providing chemical products, energy solutions, and sustainable forestry management services. Founded in December 1939, it operates from its main office in Madrid, with administrative offices in Cantabria and a sales department office in Barcelona, Spain. The company also maintains branches in Poland and China. The company operates through its five business units: cellulose and viscose, energy generation, biofuels, forest management, and sustainable development. The cellulose and viscose division produces soluble cellulose for textile, sanitary and hygienic applications, as well as cut viscose for the production of textile fabrics. The energy generation unit focuses on the administration of generation, cogeneration and combined cycle power plants, and the promotion, development and operation of renewable and ecological power generation plants, such as solar power, wind power and mini hydraulic. The company's biofuel division is in charge of the promotion, development and operation of second-generation biofuel projects, particularly of bioethanol production plants, which will then be used as ecological fuel for the transport sector. The forest division is in charge of the sustainable administration of the forest biomass that the industrial group uses in its manufacturing processes. Lastly, it sustainable development division is committed to generate positive results from an economical, environmental, and social point of view.
