This company, based in Madrid, Spain, is engaged in the acquisition, operation and commercialization of systems orientated to space, with the purpose of providing strategic and communication services for government civil and military applications. The company started its operations in July 2001 in order to supply services based on space systems, to government clients in Spain and other allied and friendly countries. It was established as the first commercial supplier in the world to provide satellite communication services in X and Ka Band for government applications exclusively. The company was set up as the main commitment of the Spanish Ministry of Defence and the company HISPASAT, for the secure communications market for satellites in military X and Ka bands. The company's business areas include: government communications, system architecture, space and ground segments. Its satellites system, SPAINSAT and XTAR-EUR, has been specifically developed with the aim of providing communication services for government civil and military applications in Spain and other allied and friendly countries.
