Urban and suburban passenger land transport

It is a private limited company primarily engaged in providing the regular group transport service in the Madrid municipal terminal. The company is owned by the Madrid town council. Since its creation in 1947, it has been the group surface transport management institution as a monopoly by means of which the service provides transport to the city of Madrid. The company's corporate headquarters is located in Madrid, Spain. Since the creation of the Community of Madrid Regional Transport Consortium (CRT) and the incorporation of the same into Madrid Town Council, it provides its transport service as an operator under the authority of the consortium. This body is responsible for regulating the needs of Madrid transport which together with EMT provide the remaining means of transport both urban (Metro) and interurban (RENFE and interurban buses). The company is the largest urban surface transport company in Spain and one of the largest in Europe. Other activities related to the main activity include: work related to the control of parking in the city of Madrid which contributes to greater rationalisation of city parking by means of the Parking Control Support Service (SACE); the commercialisation of publicity exhibited in their vehicles, which is a way of getting the publicity message all over the city and it being seen by all citizens; and other activities related to their corporate objective. Its bus depots are located in Fuencarral, La Elipa, Entrevias and Carabanchel.
